Damn the Blogger editor for once again losing my post! Now I have to make my horrible confession all over again!
I sheepishly admit to enjoying Lilian Jackson Braun's Cat Who series. My "gateway" book is The Cat Who Robbed a Bank. I picked it up as an audio book (on CD, of course, not tape) at the library to listen to while I walk to and from work (and sometimes on the commuter train as well). I quite enjoy the protagonist with his "expressive" mustache and gifted crime-solving Siamese cats. I console the inner book snob in me by blaming my enjoyment on the narrator, George Guidall.
My other great formula fiction love are the Spencer mysteries of Robert B. Parker, which are wonderful to listen to because of the snappy dialogue--especially when they're read by Joe Mantegna.
So there you are, my two guilty pleasures. My conscience feels so much clearer now.
