Good News at Work!

OOOOH! EEEEEEH! And similar sounds of excitement.

My supervisor--A.--finally made it to work today after being "stuck" in Florida due to weather (boo hoo, poor girl). So I have the green light to re-organize the files (hooray!). I've got a working computer ID and email address--thank you "IT Guy" (who is leaving tomorrow for a long weekend in London; lucky bastard). The program we use to keep track of donors and gifts is called Paradigm, and I figured out how to create my own user ID, etc. I feel like I know how to navigate it better than A. and only after one day!

But that's not the OOOH EEEH exciting news. Amy gave me two projects to over see in the next couple of months!

Say it with me: OOOOOOH! EEEEEEH!

There's the Bloomingdale's Shopping Benefit Day on March 1st. Each participating organization gets 200 tickets to sell at $10 a piece (and keeps all the money, a possible $2000). And then every organization that has 60+ shoppers show up receives another $5/person. So I need to come up with marketing strategy and a method for tracking ticket sales. And then after A. goes over all of this with me she says, "And if you want to, you could go to the event. If you're interested."

OF COURSE I'M INTERESTED! A special shopping event at Bloomingdale's for charity? Hello? With entertainment and fashion events and prizes and I coordinated it for my organization! Hello, yes I want to go. Awesome.

But that's not even the best part.

You know that show Extreme Home Makeover on ABC? Well Boston Channel 5 is starting Extreme Home Makeover: Boston Edition. But their not just doing homes. They're doing nonprofits! First it was the Home for Little Wanderers. And guess who's getting made over next? CEEH! Yes, it just so happens that our Bishop Street house is scheduled for a bit of a renovation, and The Boston Channel decided that we deserve a makeover!

EEEEEEEEK!

And who's overseeing this project?

Me.

Oh. My. God.

Stay tuned. I'm sure it will be one rollercoaster of a ride!
