Not a new observation, not at all. But I'm continually surprised by people, which I love. Take today at lunch, for instance. I ate a quick lunch in my office and then took a short walk outside.
At an intersection I went to cross the street, behind a truck waiting to turn left; the truck driver smiled at me, so I smiled back. Next he motioned me to go over to him. For some reason, I went.
"How you doin'?" he said with a smile.
"Fine," I replied, grin on my face.
"You look fine," he said.
"Thanks," I laughed and started to walk away.
"Wait, what's your name?"
"Jenny," I answered and turned to leave.
"Do you have a phone?" he called after me.
"Yes," I said over my shoulder. "But I also have a boyfriend!" I laughed and smiled.
He smiled and nodded in a resigned way.
I suppose some women would be irritated by a truck driver (a small delivery truck, not a huge semi or anything, or a pimped out pick-up) trying to pick them up like that. But he was nothing but friendly, and I find the whole thing amusing. After all, who really goes out of their way to pick me up? I'm not that kind of girl. It makes me wonder, though, what people see when they look at me. Apparently, they see something different than what I see. :-)

I see a young lady who is highly intelligent, and yet spiritually needy. I want to share with you my knowledge of the Torah.
I am propositioned by young ladies just about every day--sometimes men, too!
