New Orleans

Of course the media is flooded--pun is sadly intended--with news of New Orleans and the hurricane-ravaged region. The BBC has lots of photos and stories (how does the BBC of all people get such excellent coverage of New Orleans?) that I would recommend if you're looking for information.

What's happening in New Orleans right now is really, really, really bad.

Even though it's obviously the big story right now, I am not sure that people truly grasp how big of a deal this is.

In the long run this could be worse than 9/11.
