Website Master

I am the web master at CEEH, and it is my task to find the designer of our site. So far I have talked to three different designers, and put a call into a fourth:

Relish, elytra design, Reignition and 3000K.

As of right now, I like Elytra the best. They're beautiful and easy-to-use pages. And if we wanted her to, she could do our letterhead and everything. I need to find someone at least to do the postcard. In the past we've used a friend of Amy's, Krimski Designs, and she does nice work and would help keep a certain coherence to the organization's history.

Decisions, decisions....

This weekend I gave the "Jenny Reality Tour" of Boston for my family (Mom, Aunt Nancy, Grandma, and Grandpa). I think they enjoyed themselves. I know they were very taken with my apartment and Jamaica Plain in general. They also loved Flour and were very impressed with ABH (the site where I work). I took them up to the fourth floor to see the rooftop garden. I had never been there myself, and it really is quite pretty. I can't believe there weren't people out there! We have a resident--I'll call him Phil (he's kind of shy)--who takes care of all the plants. He's named them all after staff and residents. In fact, he's even labeled them, which is just so cute (I'm sorry, I know it's a silly thing to say, but it is cute).

Grandpa sat in the park by Jamaica Pond while the rest of us wandered around JAmaica Plain, window shopping and looking at the houses and gardens. When we met up in the park, Grandpa told us about these two men in white suits who met with a priest and put a carnation in his lapel. My initial reaction: oh my god, he witnessed mob business! But of course not. It was just two men who got married in the park. We watched them pose for some of their pictures. They were quite dashing in their suits. And the park ranger let them take pictures with the horse. Again: how cute.

I took Mom to the Harvard Book Store, which is such a magical place! Such selection for an independent bookstore (it's quite large). One never needs to go to Boarder's or B&N when you have Harvard Book Store.
