Grant-Writing and Poodle-Knitting

So, this weekend I decided to be extra responsible and bring home this grant application to work on. Since our fearless grant writer has abandoned us! (no, she merely decided it was time to move on and focus on going to graduate school) we're all floundering trying to cope while we look for a new one. ::Sigh:: I hate staff changes. It's like having a broken family. Mummy and Daddy don't love each other anymore! ahhhh! At least, that's what it feels like to me. Why, why do you want to leave me? What did I do wrong? Please don't go..... whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

But I don't want to work on a grant application. I want to knit a pink poodle. Yes, I found a pattern for a poodle bottle cover, circa 1950s kitch. It's totally awesome and I want to devote all my time to size 6 bamboo needles and pink cotton yarn. Who wouldn't?

And speaking of knitting, I have been alerted to the most fabulous page: Crazy Aunt Purl (see link in side bar). It's incredibly entertaining, and you learn some knitting pointers along the way.

And I found the blog of my former roomie from back in Worcester. She's a crazy but endlessly creative and interesting person, and her Potage du Jour (again, see link in side bar) is always worth the read.

Yesterday I cleaned and shopped and wrapped and cooked. Well, I don't know if you'd call it cooking. I made homemade Irish Cream (think Bailey's) to take to Jon's parents for our pre-Christmas fete and a delightful Strawberry Merlot sauce to put over a dish of peaches. Yum, yum. I am a domestic goddess. Go me.
