Dry, warm feet!
As my day has mainly consisted of printing business cards, holiday cards, and designing Hearth address labels, I've had a bit of time to do on-line-window-shopping.
(What would you call that? Browsing, I suppose. But it's such an apt and compact pun that it's just no fun. Window shopping actually works as well, if you use Microsoft Windows [and who doesn't?]. But, again, it's rather obvious and dull. A topic for another time, I guess ....)
Anyway, my default winter boot maker is Sorel. It's what we hardy mid-Westerners wear. We go down to Fleet Farm (or Farm & Fleet, depending on which part of Wisconsin you inhabit) or Menard's ("Save good money at Menard's) and buy necessary items like snow boots, snow suits, snow shovels, snow blowers, snow tires, cow bells, etc ....
I have ventured to Zappos.com and bought my first pair of shoes/boots from there. They aren't Sorel, but Khombu. They got excellent reviews, and they seem a bit lighter and less clunkier than Sorels (I do have to treck to and from work, after all!).
I should get them in a couple of days. I hope they fit!
