As it is winter and I'm in a constant state of recovery from my cough and sinuses, I've been very careful to not use the same glass or water bottle too many times.
I just finished a bottle of Poland Springs ("Natural spring water from Maine since 1845" and, yes, I realize that in America, land of the safest drinking water in the world, it's stupid to waste money on bottled water and it's environmentally unfriendly ... but moving on ....) and went to the water cooler to fill it up with Monadnock Spring Water (from the base of Mount Monadnock in New Hampshire - which I've hiked up to the top, thank you very much. So I kind of feel like I'm justified in drinking its water).
Both waters taste exactly the same. Now, some people roll their eyes and say that water has no taste. I agree. Good water has no taste. Some water, like by my great grandparents cottage in northern Wisconsin, had far too much sulfur. The water in Dallas, which according to all reports was very, very clean, always tasted like dirt. Like it went directly from the bottom of the reservoir, through a cheap sieve like kids use at the beach, and right into my glass. It looked fine, but tasted ugh.
And for whatever reason, I've always preferred Dasani (yes, water made by Coke) to Aquafina (water made by Pepsi). It's stupid but true.
However, to my finally tuned palette, there is no difference between Poland Spring and Monadnock.
This is what I learned at work today.

Evian tastes the best, you can totally taste the difference.
Also, Dasani is *spring water* whereas Aquafina is *drinking water*, no? There are very strict regulations as to what they're allowed to call waters, depending on where they come from.
Wow, that is an amazing trail of thoughts!
I forgot to add - I am so proud!
Thank you, Mom! I am proud of myself as well.
Actually, Dasani is no more spring water than Aquafina. Both are municipal water that receives additional treatment before bottling. Dasani differs from Aquafina in that Dasani has minerals added (potassium, magnesium, sodium) to change the flavor profile. That's why my friend can't drink Dasani - magnesium sulfate (AKA milk of magnesia) does not agree with her (to put it nicely).
I could talk about this stuff all day, but I'll spare you (for now).
