I few weeks ago I added the link in the sidebar to CoolPeopleCare.org. I admit I don't visit the website often, but I do receive my daily "5 Minutes of Caring" email every day. In 99 words or less, CPC founder Sam Davidson will offer a topic and some easy action you can take to make the world a little bit better.
The second link I just added is for GoodSearch.com. By using it instead of Google/Yahoo/whatever (actually, GoodSearch is powered by Yahoo) every search you do earns money towards the nonprofit of your choice. Cool, huh? There's also GoodShop.com which offers links to the all the usual on-line shopping destinations, like Amazon.com. The difference is, by accessing them through GoodShop.com a percentage of your purchase price is donated to the charity of your choice. As if I needed more justification to shop online!
So, there you go. Now you can goof off on the internet at work and rationalize it: you're doing good!
