Last evening after work I participated in Community Garden Cleanup. We worked on clearing out the pile of garden refuse to make room for new compost bins. There were a lot of interesting creatures living in that pile of damp organic matter, most of which I didn't want to get near enough for a picture (too many legs .... Way too many legs). Truth be told, most of them weren't too keen on being seen, let alone photographed.
However, nothing is more congenial to photos than a snail because it just can't move fast enough. Flowers are generally pretty cooperative too.
I love this photo because of the little ladybug tucked inside. It looks awesome full-sized but I didn't want to subject y'all to that. Since 98% of you who read this know me, just email me if you'd like to see the "real deal" (I could also email it to you as a computer wallpaper file).
I wish I could claim these beautiful tulips as mine, but alas, they are growing in a neighbor's plot.
I really like this one because of the way the petals have fallen off, leaving the center exposed. It looks like a diagram from a botany book. I also like the bit of blue sky and the hint of red flowers in the background.
Snail on compost. This is the critter who caused me to get my camera out in the first place. I think he turned out well.
