By the time I received my shipment of envelopes last Thursday, it was too late for me to do anything with them.
I returned to work Monday afternoon, after a lovely weekend with the parents (me: tour guide, them: paying tourists) filled with all of the uncity offerings of Boston: the Arboritum, the Zoo, Walden Pond, the DeCordova Sculpture Park, the Victory Gardens. And lots and lots of food.
Anyway, now I have envelopes, but not enough letterhead.
I also have printed and stuffed fall appeal letters/envelopes (thank you, mail house) but not in the order I sent the files in (no thank you, mail house). I just spent about two hours sitting on the floor in the hallway (I needed space, and to be near my computer) trying to sort out who belongs to what. Not fun.
I also put together the most fabulous meeting packets ever! They will laugh, they will cry ... they'll never guess the crazy ending! Or, more prosaically, they are your typical fundraising committee monthly packets. Summary: we need more money.
I'm so stressed that I didn't care that I was eating stress-chocolate (good thing: I recognized my need for chocolate was stress-related. bad thing: I didn't care that I was promoting bad habits and ate it anyway). I'm also stressed that I don't even want to talk to the residents (and I love the old people upstairs! It's the whole reason I work here!).
OK, whatever, I gotta get outta here. It's closing on 8:00pm. (Ooh - I've almost worked a 12 hour day! I can't wait to get up early for my 8:30am meeting!)
