Accessory Heaven

Oh my ...

On my way to Waltham after work yesterday, I stopped at the original Filene's Basement (FB) (the best one -- the one actually in a basement) because the atm in the store is part of my bank's network (SUM!). Well, I ended up running out of time before I could even use the ATM.

Why?

Well, I should say that any excuse I make up to visit FB is disingenuous because, of course, what I really want to do is shop for accessories: earrings, necklaces, and scarves (and hats, but not as often).

However, I'm allergic to a lot of metals (except sterling silver), I can't wear necklaces day after day so I (as most people who know me already know) switch between necklaces and scarves.

FB always has tons of scarves, some "designer" (a.k.a unaffordable) and many lower-end but still pretty brands. I refuse to pay more than $15 for a scarf.

Being FB, scarves are always all over the place, regardless of price, and anytime I see a scarf that I instantly fall in love with, I know that it's a designer scarf, and most likely Missoni.

I don't know anything about fashion. But I love Missoni scarves because they're so geometric and colorful!

Long story short, at FB yesterday they had them on sale for $14.99! These usually retail for $100 (for about a square foot of silk fabric, if that). Even at FB they're usually $30. I was in heaven. It was Christmas in May. I was beside myself with joy.

I bought a "few." More like 6 or 7. How could I not? I shall be accessory satisfied for months now. In line to check out I couldn't stop smiling. I'm still smiling, in fact.

I love the Basement.
