Trainsicle

I have created a new word: trainsicle. A person who becomes very cold after sitting on an unheated train.

What spurs this on? I boarded the commuter train at 7:00am this morning. We reached the Westborough train depot--the third stop of the morning--and then the lights flickered, and it got very quiet. A voice came over the speakers: "We're experiencing some difficulty. We'll try to get things going in a few minutes."

Well, I must have fallen asleep. When I woke up at 8:15 we were still sitting in Westborough in the cold and dark. BRRR! Eventually someone got the bright idea to hook up another engine to the train. Genius. Eventually we started up again, and again I feel asleep. It was 10:00am by the time we got to Back Bay Station. Good lord. I was so cold and stiff! On the one hand I was welcoming the walk: a chance to stretch my legs. On the other hand, I didn't want to be cold anymore. I caved in and bought hot chocolate from Starbucks. I was never so happy to get to my hot little office!

Tomorrow should be interesting. I was planning to drive because I have the shopping event at Bloomingdale's to go to in Newton. But we could get a foot of snow tonight. Not welcoming driving weather. I also have to drop off event tickets at one of the other sites--in Brookline. Sheesh. What a pain. Stupid Bloomingdale's.

The only good thing about tomorow is that I'm finally going to meet with the would-be roommates in the dream apartment. Fingers crossed! I really just want this all settled. I'm so tired of juggling apartment hunting, new job, insurance crap, car stuff. Ugh. I need a personal assistant to do all of this thinking for me. Any takers?

How about them Oscars? I thought the format was awful. Announcing awards from the isle? It's the Oscars. Get on stage! I didn't watch for very long, but I was happy about Million Dollar Baby. It was such a good movie. And hooray for Morgan Freeman. :-)
