Saints be praised, I have been released from that theatre. OK, the performance wasn't that bad. And I do give the set five stars: * * * * * It was a fabulous set--completely with a functioning fountain. Pretty good for a college-built stage. But some of the acting was horrid--and unfortunately, some of the worst actors were main characters. But many of them showed promise, and while I wouldn't necessarily recommend the show to others, I'm glad I was introduced to it.
Tis a Pity She's a Whore was written by John Ford, a contempory of Shakespeare. Boy loves sister, sister becomes pregnant, sister marries suitor as a cover-up, many people die. The end.
I actually rather enjoyed the minor plotline of the "lusty widow." She was quite good, I thought. Twas a pity when she was killed.

I had a similar experience watching "Be Cool" - the new Travolta flick.
Maybe they should re-title it "'Tis a Pity it's a Bore."
