One glorious week of sunshine, sand, sea shells, birds, alligators, tortises, and lizards. Fresh seafood, inviting sea breezes, houses painted sea foam green. Sea-everything and I loved every salty, sea-soaked minute of it.
My cameras and I had a blast (oh, and it was nice to see Grandparents, Parents, and have Jon along too). I took just about 500 pictures and I spent many hours on Sunday trying to cull them down to the "keepers."
Every time I'm in Florida (not nearly often enough!) I am captivated by its lushness. The eye-catching green, the glittering sand, the bright reflection of sun on waves. And then there are the beautiful sunsets. One of the major perks of being on the Gulf side rather than the open Atlantic (other than a much diminished chance of a shark attack) is that you can watch the sun set in glorious technicolor splendor (instead of having to wake up early to watch it rise). Example:
Not bad, eh?
So much to tell and so little time... I of course will be creating a lovely collage-o-photos on my long-neglected website. I'll let you know when that happens (probably this weekend).
Alas, I should get to work.

One last thing I discovered upon my return:
Katamari Damaci on NPR! (thanks to Laura who found it for me)

Sounds (and looks!) like you had a great vacation. I can imagine Florida in January would be fantastic. Anyway, anything exciting show up at your doorstep while you were gone?? Eh???
