It's not as if I needed confirmation of the above statement, but last night's organizational meeting for JP Neighbors for Neighbors at the Milkway was the crowning example. Well over one hundred JP residents turned out to meet, greet, and start new projects. I announced the Knitting Club (K-nit and K-vetch), others propsed a Writing Group, a restart of the Jogging Club, a tree group to care and maintain the 150-year-old oak trees lining the main roads (they are subjected to heavy pollution from traffic, and then often mercilessly cut for new development). On-going projects include: improving the neighborhood dog ark, improving the Southwest Corridor Park, neighborhood pot-luck dinners, the list goes on and on. I'm just so excited about it all.
Work is going well, although the business card fiasco has reared its ugly head. Grr, I could scream. Ah well.
Now back to stuffing envelopes for mailing. Yippy.
