Printer Doctor ... Again

Previously I wrote about being a printer/computer doctor, but I believe it was in a psychiatrical sense.

Today, I believe I may be witnessing the death throws of my HP LasterJet 6P. Not only is it squeaking (which is kind of like the printer version of bronchitis), it can no longer feed itself without help (won't "eat up" my envelopes I need printed), and makes the most painful, agonizing moans.

It sounds like a dying dinosaur. Or perhaps a mating call to its kind. Either way, it's just not good.

Work has become chaotic (back to the usual!). Some unexpected (for me) work has been thrust upon me. I am slightly irked (OK, maybe more than slightly) because I wish they would have "looped me in" on this situation a bit earlier. I understand why they kept it under wraps, but I could have prepared myself in advance and wouldn't be sitting in the office at 6:00pm on a Friday hand-feeing my dying printer envelopes.

It seems a bit unfair, especially since all the other parties in the know are already gone home for the night or on vacation or just ignoring our pleas for quick communication.

And who will be blamed when the "plan" is not executed smoothly? That's right, me and "my" department.

On a happy, unwork-related note: I'm going to Worcester (Woos-ta) this weekend to hang out with Kelly and do "girly" things! WAHOO.

Hmm, this posting this is distracting me from my printer who is having a lot of difficulty with those envelopes. I better go or I'll be here all night.
