New Words!

I finally finished the plastic bag, bag. It's a weird combination of hidiousness and recyled, home-made beautifulness. It's hidiful. There will be pictures, as soon as I get around to taking and posting them.

Believe it or not "hidiful" is not even the word this post is about. That was just a spur of the moment creation (I am amazing ... in a "special" way).

Now that I've finished the plastic bag, I'm taking it easy before my next big project (a sweater -- actually clothing). I'm muppetizing (to take a perfectly "normal" object and render it monsterously fuzzy) a store-bought cardigan. This particular cardigan which I picked up at Filene's Basement last year, got a snag on the cuff. Instead of quietly darning it and going on my way, I've decided that I needed to do something big and fuzzy (dangerous combination: big and fuzzy).

I picked up a ball of uber-soft, fuzzy yarn (brand, I forget) from Windsor Buttons that was on clearence. Last night I sewed on the fuzzy cuffs, and I'm almost finished knitting the fuzzy collar for the, er, collar. It will be muppet-tastic (fantastic in an outrageously fuzzy kind of way).

Tonight I will be reupping as a PAL volunteer with Horizons for Homeless Children! Traditionally a PAL goes once a week to a shelter to do activities with the children who live at the shelter. But, I can't do once a week, it's too time-consuming (as I realized last year). But I have been presented with an opportunity to do it once a month -- that I can handle. So tonight I will be volunteering with a bunch of other PALs during a Homes for Families meeting (a partnership between Horizons and Homes for Families). I'm anticipating lots of kids. It'll be great!

And now I really have to do work. I've got the meeting minutes from hell to finish typing up.

Remember the secret words for the day: muppetizing and muppet-tastic.

You are too funny. I can't wait to see both the bag and the Muppet-tastic sweater!
