I believe I just found the best time waster available on the internet. I'm talking about: The HeroMachine. The HeroMachine is a creation of the Superhero Database, an unbelievably exhaustive collection of all known superheroes, including Ant Man (for all of you who heard last weekend's repeat of the Superhero This American Life episode).

The HeroMachine allows you to create your own superhero(ine).

During my lunch break I created Firefly. I have not created any back story, she's just an image. But I am hopelessly addicted to this machine. I would sit and create my own superhero army if I had the time. I envision a Superhero Sims game where the Sims inspire to gain super powers and the coolest secret lair (start as a circus performer, work your way up to Robin or something).
