So?
I haven't posted yet this week, and I thought I ought to. At the moment, though, there are so many thoughts swirling in my head (the big one: is the naming of a new Whitehouse Spokesperson really a news story or a self-referrential, metatextual media story about itself? It's tough, because, it is of course a bit of a political story ... but only a bit. He's the spokesperson -- meaning, he is a mouth more than a person. But you see what I mean, right?)
Anyway ... Saturday Jon and I saw John Kerry speak. It was a good talk about Dissent, Iraq, and harkenings back to Vietnam (in an honest, historical, contextual sense, and not just inflamatory words). It was a resurgence of the "old" Kerry. The Kerry I liked way back in the 2004 primaries before he lost himself in the campaigning. Unfortunately, I don't see the American People giving him a fair second chance. In short: I really think you would have been a good president, Kerry, but please don't run again. Stay where you are in the Senate, or wait for a cabinet post (Secretary of State, perhaps?).
We also attended a showing of Wordplay at the Brattle as part of the 4th Annual Boston Independent Film Festival. It's about crossword puzzles. What's not to love?
I'm also happy to report that the garden metaphor of last week's attempt at a spring appeal ("gimmie me money") was pruned and has now flowered -- promising bountiful fruit. OK, now it's getting out of control again.
