(I can't imagine a political environment where another Republican would be elected. Not unless Iraq and Afghanistan miraculously became peaceful, Iran and North Korea magically became benevolent, and the economy actually improved for the people who really need it [i.e. 90% of the population.] Since I'm pretty sure (sadly enough) that those things won't happen ... yeah, a Dem is going to win. That doesn't mean we shouldn't run a good campaign, though. I mean, I'm pretty sure most people thought a Democrat would win after 8 years under Regan, and look what happened: Bush I.)
Anyway, the beginnings of the uber-cabinet (in a realistic kind of way, not as in "Noam Chomsky for this and the Dali Lama for that" because we know that won't happen):
- Secretary of State: John Kerry
- Head of the EPA: Al Gore
- Secretary of Education: my mom (OK, perhaps not a very realistic choice).
- Secretary of Health and Human Services: the COO of my organization. She's wicked smart, very practical, and compassionate (she probably wouldn't want the job either, though. The best people never want those kinds of positions).
I'm still working on the other posts. Anyone have other suggestions?
I'm feeling much better, by the way. I no longer want to stick any kind of crafting implement up my nose. (Yes, Rebecca, I learned how to crochet (kind of). I made a hat and scarf. I don't know enough to follow a pattern, though.)
("Jon" if you want to wear a dress to Rebecca's wedding, go ahead. I'm sure you would be beautiful. I think, perhaps, a blush pink color? Although maybe not for a fall wedding. Hmm...)

In 2009 we shall inaugurate President Newt Gingrich and Vice President Mitt Romney. I know they have my vote. So, I am not sure that your cabinet members are likely to be selected.
I am glad you approve of my wearing a dress to the wedding but...I was thinking of taking someone else, actually. I will keep you posted.
