Not Me

In an CBS blog article about the resignation of Roy Blunt as House GOP Whip, Blunt relates some of the "Republican Victories" (as written to himself in a letter following the 2006 mid-term election failure).

The "victory" that best illustrates today (I'm sure I can find another example tomorrow) why I am not Republican (or Libertarian, for that matter):
  • upholding a veto on an expansion of children's health insurance

We wouldn't want under-privileged children to be too healthy. Otherwise for-profit hospitals and insurance companies wouldn't make any money.

If underpriveleged children were all healthy, that would really hinder our plan for Jewish world domination.
