As many of you already realize, I'm completely hopeless. Unfortunately for Jon, he learned that the hard way -- waking up at the crack of dawn this morning for the Serve-A-Thon, only to realize that we were a month early. Somehow I had the date wrong...
Not a huge surprise for me, but I felt bad that Jon had to wake up so early because of my mistake. However, we did get to eat at Finagle-a-Bagle (which is fun to say, regardless of the bagel quality, which is excellent) and take a morning walk in quiet Boston.
The day was so beautiful that we hit on the idea of canoeing. Now, Jon has never been in a canoe, let alone paddled. I grew up in a family that owned a canoe for heaven's sake, but I never claimed to be an expert. However with a little advice from some friendly kyakers, we did pretty well, and stayed out on the Charles River for two hours. We say turtles, great blue herons, and 12 swans (a perfectly ridiculous number, if you ask me). It was beautiful and serene, and exactly what I needed after a week of slogging around the city. I think I need a prescription for a does of nature at least once a week (beyond Jamaica Pond, that is).

So you haven't been completely "city-ified" yet! That's what my parents accuse me of being, since I was unaware of the nature-y things around Baltimore. Sounds like you had a good weekend, even if the Serve-a-Thon didn't work out.
