Why this phase was ever started "more ____ than you can shake a stick at" is beyond me. Why shake a stick at anything? What's the point? And how much is more than you can shake a stick at?
It's kind of like that phrase "cotton pickin' minute." How long is a cotton pickin' minute? Is it dependent upon time as we know it or a quantity of cotton? Is a "cotton pickin' minute" a measurement of time or cotton?
But anyway....
Thanksgiving! Happy family togetherness time. I come from a most abnormal background where Thanksgiving/Christmas/other occasions of family-togetherness are actually nice. I like them; I look forward to them.
I like Thanksgiving. I like all the cooking, even like the football (time to nap!)
I even successfully made a "real" cranberry dish. I participated in the time-honored tradition of bringing food to Thanksgiving. Another step towards adulthood accomplished. And everyone seemed to genuienly like the dish (when they sent me home with leftovers, they didn't send me home with all of the cranberry dish). Hooray!
Today Jon and I did not go shopping. We did go back to the Institute of Contemporary Art so we could see the Utopia exhibit. It was very interesting, so intersting that I can't really write anything about it yet. I'm still processing the information. It wasn't really about "utopia" it was really more about dystopia, as viewed through the concept of chamoflauge.
We also went to the Brattle to see Casablanca. That was most excellent and I was even interviewd by WBUR about the Brattle (it's in danger of having to close).
I'm so happy it's Friday! I've already had two days off, and I have two more to go! Most exciting.
